Grunge Trilogy

Grunge Trilogy (I think that's the name, it was hard to tell) is for version 1.3. It has 3 levels and the file is 128KB in size. The file name is grunge.zip. It was released on August 25, 1996. Note: you need to rename the GRUNGE.con to USER.con, then go to episode 1. Grunge Trilogy has fair to good level design and good gameplay for the most part. It is hard at times so you need to take your time. There is some health around plus the usual bathrooms and water fountains to drink from. There is also a lot of weapons and ammo to find.

Level 1 is a city level with 2 subways and lots of transporters and secret areas. Be prepared for a fight when you enter a new area or push a switch, sometimes you will be mobbed by a large group of aliens. The health and ammo to aliens ratio was well thought out though. If your careful you should have no problems. Also watch for doors/walls that open when you enter a new area. One of the keys took me a while to find because I did not walk far enough into a room so the wall did not open to reveal the key. Level 2 is another city level that seems to be on another planet. There was 1 bug on this level. In the night club there is a switch behind the bar that opens a panel with some weapons and ammo inside. There is a commander inside with 2 tripmines protecting the entrance. If the tripmines are detonated by you or the commander the game crashes. After this happened to me I just left it closed because I had more that enough ammo. Level 3 is another city level. There are some nasty tripmine traps and a hard underground fight in a very tight area. I found the keycard slots with no problem but the keys themselves are hard to find. I think the author went a little overboard on this level. I rate this TC as fair with 2 out of 5 stars.
