7/2008 Hellduke TC has 2 playable episodes right now. As
it's in the beta stage and being updated often the file
size and names may change. The file name is
HelldukeTC.zip.
Hellduke TC is a conversion of Doom to Duke3D and
requires the latest eduke32 snapshot to run. It was made to
be run in the 32 bit opengl render mode. I was able to play
the first released version but due to the age of my computer
I had problems with the later releases. Other people who
played this TC at the 3DRealms forum had no problem running
it. That said this looks like it's going to be a very good
TC. The levels are well designed, detail gets better with
every update, and gameplay, while hard, should be good. The
screenshots I used were provided by the author, XTHX2. I am
linking to the forum so that you may get the latest version.
Just look at the signature area of XTHX2 posts. Based on
first impressions of the first released version, I rate it
as good with 3 out of 5 stars. With the amount of work
being put into this TC I am sure that rating will get even
better.

Hellduke TC is a work in progress so I do not know how many
levels there will be or what the finished TC's file size
will be. The present file name is HelldukeTC.zip and the
file size is 51MB. As it is a work in progress there is no
release date.
Hellduke TC is a Doom theme TC. There are still mostly Duke
textures with some Doom doors and decorations. The weapons
are from different games. Same for the enemies. Some are
from Doom, Doom64, Strife, Heretic, and I think Hexen. There
are still the original Duke items but most ammo and health
pickups have been changed over to Doom. You can still drink
running water for health, like from toilets. One suggestion
I have is if this feature is going to stay in the TC to
change the 1 health point per second to at least 3 health
points per second like some other TC's have. (I don't like
waiting for my health to go up.)There are still nuke buttons
to end some levels instead of the Doom type switch. The Doom
imp replaces the Duke trooper and still has the troopers
ability to fly. Sounds have not been all been converted over
to Doom yet either. As far as the Doom type backpacks are
concerned the first few I came across I could not pick up
for some reason. I did get one later and my max ammo amount
was increased. Now on to the game.
Episode 1 level 1 is a simple level with good gameplay. It
gives you a chance to get familiar with the new enemies and
weapons.
Level 2 starts off easy enough but that changes quickly. The
canyon area is full of monsters that you must fight to get
the next key. After that the rest of the level is good.
Level 3 is reasonable gameplay wise. It's a short level with
the usual shotgun and chaingun guys with a plasma guy, (hate
them!) and revnant thrown in. I must have missed a switch or
something because a wall/door/elevator would not open for
me. I used dnclip to get through it and continue the level.
Level 4 is a conversion of a Doom1 episode 1 level so it has
almost all Doom textures. It was easy because I knew where
every monster was placed. Also nice job with the demon
conversion. (The big pink monster who bites.)
Level 5 is a Doom2 level conversion. I don't remember which
level this is but it was not one of my favorites. I used the
new pitchfork/staff weapon I got earlier for the first time
in this level and it does a good job killing monsters.
Level 6 is also a Doom2 boss level remake with a Super
Spider Mastermind to fight. This thing is so tough I would
like to hear from someone who beat it without cheating.
So that's what I have so far. I will play the rest of the
levels another time. As it stands right now I would rate it
as good with 3 out of 5 stars.
